Eastern Montana

Eastern Montana had much the same scenery as central and western ND. It took 10 days for me to peddle this area. The towns in eastern Montana were very small with very few services. The weather was frustrating, but not rainy. When getting up early the air was very crisp and cool. This lasted until 11AM. By noon it became very hot.

The rattlesnake above was sunning itself on Hwy 2. As I passed it I realized what it was. I turned around and took a photo of it. I wasn't positive that it was a rattlesnake...But when I spit on it the snake quickly coiled and began to rattle, I knew it was warning me to stop my rude behavior.
