The Great River State Trail

A ride on The Great River Trail isn't complete unless you stop at The Trempealeau Hotel and Saloon. The walnut balls (yes, walnut balls) are a must.

One of the many bridges on the 24 mile trail. This bridge stretches over The Black River.

The trail treks through several prairies and the back-waters of the Mississippi River.

The Great River Trail is my all-time favorite bicycle trail. Stretching from Onalaska to Trempealeau WI the abandoned Chicago-Northwestern rail bed is why I miss the La Crosse area so much.
