Fly Fishing on The Big Horn River

These photos were taken in late August 2008 on The Big Horn River near Fort Smith Montana. The Big Horn River begins at the Yellowtail Damn and Reservoir. Even during the heart of the summer heat, the water is ice cold. The river has some of the biggest rainbow trout I've seen. While wading in the cold river the rainbow trout will swim around you and sometimes between your legs. The fish are huge! The raft above is a "one-person" pontoon boat. It floats easily over shallow water and can be used to get to difficult parts of the river that otherwise might to too dangerous to wad. Officially, this "one-person" pontoon is the first boat that I've ever purchased.
