I decided to go South to a state I've never been to before...Louisiana. On Friday June 13th I begin my next bicycle adventure. If all goes as planned I will be in Baton Rouge LA 22 days/1659 miles later.
Ideally I would have liked to end the trip in New Orleans. However, I was unable to find a safe route there from Baton Rouge. When I get to Baton Rouge I will seek advice from local bicycle shops to find out if they are aware of a safe route. The New Orleans portion of the trip will add 100-110 miles to the trip.
The first day of the trip might be the longest. My goal is peddle from my drive-way to Marquette IA, 127 miles. From there I will use a portion of the Northern Tier bicycle route to make my way to Muscatine IA. From there I will catch the Great Rivers Route which will take me south to Baton Rouge.
Check back to this blog often as I will do my best to complete daily entries on my progress and adventures.

If you watched as much Deadliest Catch as I have, you'd know that it is bad luck to leave on a Friday! Sounds like a great Trek! Have fun.
